Hi, I’m August. I’m a writer. Born north of Atlanta, I come from a big southern family full of creatives. I’m passionate about art, health, and social issues. I started this blog in 2016 as a part of my journey to recovery after a hospitalization the year before that let to a creative drought. I believe creativity and health go hand in hand. I wanted to share my story and what I’ve learned along the way.
Hi! I’m a full-time artist, nature-lover, and schizophrenic. I’m 23 years old and was born in Gulfport, Florida but I’ve resided in Sallisaw, Oklahoma for the past ten years. Art is my passion, specifically abstract art. I draw inspiration from many other artists, too many to list here. In my art, I use bold, bright colors usually contrasted against dark backgrounds, with automatic drawing to create weird shapes and designs. I’ve drawn and painted all my life, taking art classes every year of school until I graduated from high school. I prefer to teach myself art techniques, but maybe someday I’ll go to an art school. On occasion, I also write, make videos, play guitar, and do photography. I hope to one day help raise awareness of mental health disorders such as schizophrenia and spread happiness with my art.
